Look Away Baba, Look Away.....

As hard as I try, I can't look away from this train wreck. Please make it stop! I want to hide my face, I am so embarrassed from some of these people! Oh, how the people of Minneapolis, MN and the upper Midwest are embarrassing themselves.

It's not all bad though. Jewel is a special guest host on the Season 6 premier of American Idol. You probably didn't know it, but Jewel was talking about good old Baba when she wrote - "You Were Meant For Me." I really do hate it when you leave the lights on baby. I really do.

You see, American Idol is one of those shows I watch for my wife. Remember, I placate her by watching some of her shows, and she returns the favor watching shows for me she really doesn't like.

Can you keep a secret? I don't mind watching this show all that much. Especially during the early episodes when people just make complete jackasses out of themselves.

Some of the early contestants are clearly just trying to put on a show, which is what producers are looking for anyway. Others honestly think they have talent, but are gravely mistaken. Who can forget America's Heartthrob?

Wait a minute! Is that? No, it's just William Hung! Blogger must have just messed up the cropping.

The Minneapolis auditions made me glad that I no longer live in the Upper Midwest. I do miss the Fargo accents though - they could always put a smile on my face! Only 17 people got passes to Hollywood. My early favorite to win it all - not sure what her name is, so let's refer to her as the Shakira look alike.

By season's end, I will be a happy man if I hear her say, "Ay Papi," just one time! Please, just one time.

My love affair with The Fox Network is at an all time high. Jack Bauer, you complete me! 24, also entering its 6th Season, started on Sunday night. I am a huge 24 fan, who has watched the show since its 1st Season. I must say that this season is a little more edgy than those in the past. I mean edgy in a Descent kind of way, only tempered (slightly) for network TV.

I think, given any tough decision, you only need to ask yourself 1 question - What Would Jack Do (W.W.J.D.?)? You do that, and you can never go wrong. You may spend some time in jail for assault and battery, but in the end things will work out for you!

I was pleasantly surpised to see Kumar (Kal Penn of Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle fame) with a role in 24. Unfortunately, Kumar did not make it past the 4th hour. That's okay. It should give him more time to work on Harold and Kumar 2!
Baba Ganoush, OUT!

I love american idol!! But I just cannot stand all the people that go one there just to be on tv....and then they(fox) make us watch it for weeks on end...well, I guess I could change the channel, huh? ;)

I am just getting into Jack. It's so hard for me to look at Keifer...all I see are pictures of him sitting in a booth at some club, bare assed, with his pants hanging around his ankles..hard picture to get out of my head!

Shionge - So, do you already know who wins before the show is over?

Beth - Yeah, you can really tell who those people are. Some of them are sort of funny though.

Not sure what you are talking about with Keifer - not sure if I want to know??? I cannot think of what movie that might be from. Did he do something embarassing in public?

I agree that the best part of Idol is the try-outs, I just don't watch after that. I know its a cheesy plow to get ratings having the ridiculous people on, but I can't stop watching! I am a HUGE reality TV fan so once the good ones come back on I can leave Idol behind!

I also watched Amercian Idol and sometimes I just can't look because I feel som embarrassed for these people...

I laughed when Rosie on the View said that Paula seemed pretty thirsty..the only thing she did was drink coke..wink wink all night.. and by the end of the evening she had one eye going one way and other another way... ;-)

Which is true. What did Paula have to say last night, duh? Not much...

Anyway, let's see how people will act tonight... ;-)

Up date...

Paula is insulting Simon but has a cold so explains why she's been quiet...

I would say that all the retards from Seattle are out...

Mother & daughter team.. the mother should have told her that wearing a bra could have been a good idea...

Let me remind you that I don't have cable.. only English channel available to me... oh boy! scary!

Sister & brother were pretty good.. ;-)

Jenny - My wife watches more reality than I do. Which means, I watch most of what she watches. Of what she watches and like, I am a fan of The Amazing Race. I, personally, like Big Brother.

BSB - I saw the Rosie thing on Access Hollywood tonight. I did not pay much attention, but I don't remember Paula saying much last night.

BSB - We like to pause the show on DVR, and then watch from there, so we are a little behind. That way we don't have to watch commercials.

Having Fox is a good thing.

We have the mother - daughter on right now.....hold on. WTF? Those things were everywhere! I never thought I'd be that repulsed by a woman sans bra!

Need to look into that therapy again.

I'm with ya on the therapy..count me in.. sans bra.. wow! using French now.. I'm impressed!!! ;-)

I am sooo into American Idol, but I am not sure what I enjoy most....Trainwreck Paula or dreadful audition performances. Let's just hope that Paula keeps up with her usual antics...it is bound to be a great season!

ha! I love AI too - but only at the beginning, like you. once they get rid of all the losers, it's not any fun anymore!

You know what sucks....I used to get a fox channel...and now....for some reason, the world shifted or something and my reception is now gone. No American Idol for me this season. Sucks! You know the only thing I hate is that you get hooked..you HAVE to watch it....and it's two days a week...I don't like letting the television control me like that, so maybe it's a good thing I'm taking a season off to recover from the insanity that was last year's.

As for WWJD....you boys and your 24..ya'll just are in love with him aren't you!! He's your McDreamy..so enjoy, no judgement from my direction I promise!

I got sucked into watching this too! I am originally from central Illinois, and have relatives that live in Wisconsin, and I apologize to anyone from there, but that upper midwest accent makes me want to cut myself.

American Idol, that is...

Have you ever heard of books?

Baba Ganoush said...

BSB - I don't even know French. That woman and her "freedom" had me talking in tounges.

Michelle Ann - We'll lose the ridiculously bad performances soon. So, let's hope for a full season of Paula making an ass of herself.

Miztris - HEY! I didn't say "I love AI." I have a rep to keep up here. LOL.

HL - Must be a thing I have for TV Jacks. Jack Bauer and Jack Shephard - I *heart* you.

Jenny - It's on when nothing else is. I think it could hang during the busy TV season though.

BB6 was the best. And last year's All-Stars (which was basically BB6 2) was good also.

I probably need to add Chill Town to my man crush list!

JLee - I can take, and actually like, that accent in small doses, but it gets old quick.

AB - With all these good shows on, who has time for books!?!?!?

I love American idol. I watch it but this season is gettin gold already. It used to be so funny, now it's just sorta...ridiculous? I mean first off, they have to get thru 2 auditions before they go in front of the judges. So how the hell do some of those people even get thru? It's all rigged!

Thanks for coming by my blog. The weather is NUTS!

You see, American Idol is one of those shows I watch for my wife.

NO! No real man watches shows for his wife. Only wussies watch shows for their wives. Especially "American Idol"! Are you insane Baba?

I'm removing you from my blog roll immediately. :)

Baba Ganoush said...

Tasha - It's all for our enjoyment.

I agree though, it got old for me fast. I spent my time during Monday's show, well visiting blogs.

Thanks for stopping by yourself!

Dan - I know, I know. Be patient. I can redeem myself. Well, not with my newest post, but I will soon. LOL.

idol was ok on tuesday. i always look to watch the idiots! but i loved listening to their MN accents best! having grown up in the chicago burbs, i can appreciate a good midwestern accent - and sometimes miss it!

Baba Ganoush said...

Molly - On the right person, the accent can be pretty cute. Too much of anything is not always good though.
